About Bird

Bird Barden graduated from the School of Visual Arts in 2006 with a BFA in Film and Video. During her studies, she discovered her love of lens-based imagery, and has been working to improve her skills ever since.

Never content to stay in one place for too long, Bird has lived, studied, and created in cities such as New York, New Orleans, and even Berlin. She currently lives in the Dallas, Texas area with Sebastian, her Saint Bernard/Great Pyrenees mix, and Chester, her hyperactive Lab mix.

About the Dogs


  • The Real Head of the Household

    Bird adopted Sebastian in 2012 from St. Cloud’s Rescue in McKinney, Texas. He has been bossing her around and keeping her on her toes ever since.

    Sebastian is a Saint Bernard / Great Pyrenees mix whose favorite pastimes as a young dog included invented games such as “Kill Mommy on our Walk Today” and “Stump the Trainer”. He remains undefeated in both games.

    As he lives each day only on is own terms, Sebastian survived Parvo as a young puppy, beat Osteosarcoma in 2020, and survived a Soft Tissue Sarcoma / Mast Cell Collision Tumor in 2023. His hobbies include eating brisket, telling jokes, and plotigt take over the world.


  • Chief Photobomber

    Chester decided to live with Bird and Sebastian inthe Fall of 2014, and has been making them laugh ever since.

    Although he looks like a minature Labrador Retriever, DNA test results show that he is his own special blend of dog breeds. Bird says that he was blended with extra sweetness.

    Chester’s special talents include zoomies at breakneck speeds, destroying even the most durable toys in a matter of minutes, and unforgettable snuggles during Snuggle Season (any time the weather is cold enough for him to snuggle).

    He also has special talent for making Bird feel terrible about that one time in 2022 that she utterly traumatized him by trying to give him a bath.
